Here at Mr. Code, we believe coding is for everyone. As the computer science industry grows daily, we think it's every child's right to explore the computer science field. Our goal is to provide a safe and educational learning environment for people from all ethnicity and backgrounds!
Mr. Code is on a mission to promote diversity in STEM by teaching computer science to kids. Everything we provide is entirely free, so anybody, regardless of financial condition, can benefit from what we offer.
Our one-on-one tutoring is offered weekly, is cost-free, and is provided to each student individually. Ages 8 to 16 can participate in our programs. A few of the coding languages we can teach students to be proficient in include HTML, CSS, Java, Python, and more. Thanks to our rigorous selection of volunteers, we can ensure a secure learning environment for students from all racial and cultural backgrounds.
Volunteers are something we support; in fact, this program is entirely run by volunteers just like you! Volunteers need to use the chat function on our website or visit our contact us page and we will try our best to contact you as soon as possible! Our team will interview you and see if you meet the criteria for teaching students; however, if you don’t, we will try to find another volunteering opportunity for you!
As part of our annual Hackathon, our supporters donate prizes worth hundreds of dollars, which keeps the students collaborating with their peers. Each year there will be different topics, and you will be given 72 hours to perform a given task most creatively and effectively possible. If you cannot do so, don’t worry as you can improve your skills with us and try again next year!
